Houstonia caerulea
"infinite meadows"
Description:
These bluets cluster together in the quiet of the forest, framed by an explosion of witchalder. Bluets are ubiquitous in the woodlands of North America, often associated with childhood and innocence. Their common name comes from their color: universally significant, blue often evokes feelings of calm and stability, truth, trust, or simple peace. The inscription inside the card is a quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "Evangeline" ~
"Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of Heaven,
Blossom the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels."
