Option A:
me, when I’m not consistently exercising: wakes up with aches and pains, cranky; also feeling slightly guilty about not exercising

Option B:
me, when I’m exercising more: wakes up with aches and pains, cranky; also feeling slightly proud of myself

I mean, realistically speaking I just cycle between those two over and over again, but I do recognize that the second one encourages a generally more positive self-image.
